Andrews Out Again

Keith Andrews will miss his third straight game this weekend with a groin injury and reports are indicating that he will not be well enough to kick next week against Mississippi either.

With an offense that continues to struggle, it really hurts the team to be without it's only consistent field goal kicker. State obviously needs all the help they can get when trying to put a few points on the board.

Michael Heard is also out for the Arkansas game with a hairline fracture in his lower leg. He is probable for the Egg Bowl.

Any comment on this continual injury? I have heard of rumblings within the team, as there are supposed to be two factions. Nothing specific, but that is one of the root speculations in terms of what is going on with the team. And to have one's kicker, who is usually an intelligent person...be continually pulled due to an injury like this? Is he REALLY injured, or is it a psyche thing? Was Croom pushing him so hard that he injured himself? Was he going for a lot of long stuff, as that is the main way a kicker gets hurt, unless it was a bad tackle? Don't know about the latter, as I have not watched this train wreck for awhile.

It's nice (sometimes) living in an area of which is not local to MSU.

That's an interesting theory...

I imagine a groin pull is tough to get over for a kicker. I think he hurt it kicking off, which would make sense, because he routinely put the ball in the end zone.

Hopefully he'll be back for the game this weekend, because the alternative has not been impressive.
